Someone please confiscate my tablet along with all other art equipment because what I drew a while ago is not okay on any level. I'll explain why.
See those three? They're all characters from the series "Naruto" / "Naruto Shippuden". I'm going to go ahead and tell you; if you look up "Kannon", nothing will come up related to her. Why? Because she's only known as "Sasori's Mother" - she wasn't given a proper name & thus I named her. You may be wondering, "Well, why that name? Why did you of all people name her?" Because she's very important to the storyline, believe it or not. (also because I have her as a muse on tumblr and such). If you don't want to know more about the characters (mainly Sasori & Kannon, shh) I've put it under a spoiler for you.
Alright alright alright. Now that that's out of the way, I want to explain a little bit more about the picture itself. Why is Deidara in the picture? Why is Sasori so unhappy? Why is there a broken heart above Kannon's head? All of this was discussed with one of my friends ("bruh no sasori", if you will. lol)
Basically, we imagined a scenario where Kannon had already met Deidara (of course she'd like him - the guy is her son's partner & the two could talk sometimes) and she wanted a picture with the two of them - a family picture of sorts. So yes, Deidara is smiling like he should be. I imagine it goes something like this:
-----
"Smile for the picture!" Kannon's voice is undoubtedly rather cheery and met with quite the large smile from Deidara, though as she looks over to the side she can't help but notice that there's not even a hint of a smile on Sasori's face. "You know you're supposed to smile," she says as softly as possible; chiding him though still maintaining that kindness she'd always had.
"One smiles when they're happy. I don't feel happy."
-----
And there you have it - happy Deidara, heartboken Kannon, and flat Sasori.

Basically, Sasori grew up in a place named "Sunagakure", with both of his parents as well of his grandmother ("Grandmother Chiyo"). During one of the Shinobi (this is the term used for ninjas) World Wars, Sasori's mother & father were sent off to defend Sunagakure. Needless to say, neither of them made it back and Sasori stayed under his grandmother's care. And what was the only thing Chiyo told him? "Wait a little bit longer." Yeah, he was never directly told that they wouldn't be coming back and his grandmother then proceeded to neglect him more than she should've. So instead of having a happy childhood like he deserved and growing up to become a Shinobi and defend the village, he defected to an organization called the Akatsuki.
Now this wouldn't be so bad on his mother's part if I hadn't wished to have her developed so much more. Since I did, it's quite obvious that there are many sad things regarding this. If you want to know more about it don't hesitate to ask or something
Oh, and by "important to the storyline", I meant if she hadn't have gone off to the war along with her husband, then Sasori wouldn't have defected and a long chain of events wouldn't have happened.
