Villagers and Heroes Patch Notes:
4.3
November 28th, 2017
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Patch 4.3
4.3 is a large juicy build that comes with a lot of fixes, balance, player requests and more! All players will be happy with new feat slots, and mobile players will especially be happy with several added mobile features. The Halloween event is now over, and the Haunted Moors have gone until next year!
Note: This patch contains a large number of icon and UI updates. If icons for certain buttons and items now look out of place, a clean reinstallation of the game will fix the issue.
* NEW FEATURES:
Brand new User Interface for both PC and Mobile with new extended feat bar. See the full section below.
We have added a Rest mechanic to the game, giving players bonus combat experience. See the full section below.
Due to popular demand, a world message will be sent whenever a new player first enters Summer's Hollow! Clicking on this message will allow players to immediately chat with the new player, offering them help or inviting them to a guild or village. For players who would rather not receive this, it can be disabled either in Settings or in the chat settings.
We have added Russian language support.
We have added Korean language support.
* NEW FEATURES FOR MOBILE ONLY:
Mobile players can now trade.
Mobile players can now redeem Achievements and rewards.
Mobile players can now activate makeovers.
* NEW USER INTERFACE FOR PC ONLY:
You now have 17 slots to put feats or items in! The previous 10 feat slots and 5 quick slots have been changed to 17 slots in which you can put either feats or items. (this means 2 extra feat slots if you prefer to still keep 5 slots for items - but you can arrange feats/items any way you wish!)
The HUD art itself has received a visual update, looking more detailed and polished than ever!
Note:
XP numbers, feat shortcut numbers, and mana numbers are turned off by default, but can be toggled back in the settings.
The gathering bar now appears on top of the regular bottom bar - no more toggling between each, you can see everything at once.
The XP bar now covers the entire bottom part of the screen, making it easier to see small increments of gained XP. It also adds the feature previously only available on mobile, where recently gained XP shows in a different color, making it easier to see how much you got.
Absorb shield graphic is now gold rather than blue.
* NEW USER INTERFACE FOR MOBILE ONLY:
The new HUD on mobile has 17 slots, just like on PC. On mobile, these are togglable between in two sets, using the new bottom-right button.
The mobile HUD has received a large visual update as well.
The action button is now a slot! Assign any feat or item for easy use during combat. You can still use regular attacks by tapping on selected enemies in the game world.
The slots on the HUD are larger and much easier to use.
Empty slots are transparent to clutter up the UI less.
Button layout and icons have been updated.
XP bar color has changed to purple to match the new Starfall XP colors.
There is a new Customize view opened by tapping an empty slot or going to Talents -> Customize Slots. From here you can easily fill any slot with an ability or item.
* NEW REST FEATURE:
We have added a new rest mechanic to the game. For every 2 hours a character is logged out, they will get a charge of "Rested".
On defeating a bounty boss, a charge of rested will be consumed and the character will gain 100% bonus experience for that boss (added to other experience boosters).
A player can have a maximum of 30 rest charges and charges will begin accumulating after you log-off for the first time once this build goes live.
Rest charges are per character, not per account.
Characters earn charges while not logged in, even if you are logged in on another character on your account.
The system is smart enough to save off spare time, so characters will never be penalized for logging in when they were just about to recieve a charge. If this does happen, then that charge will be earned very quickly after logging out again.
The Rested mechanic will give players a nice bonus for logging in and doing a full or partial bounty run, while simultaneously speeding up leveling a bit for the more for the casual player.
* IMPROVEMENTS:
Players in a party now get a 10% bonus to combat XP, rather than a 50% penalty (so players actually get more while in a party than if they were solo)!
Elder weapons are now specialized at all levels, i.e. even level 10 players can pick which weapon type they want and it will be themed (both Masteries and runes) to match.
Quest Armaments will now match your specialization.
Salvaging is now instant instead of taking several seconds.
When interacting with NPCs, enemies, or any other interact-able object, players will now dismount when they reach their destination, rather than when they select it.
If a player emotes while mounted, instead of being dismounted and doing the emote animation, it will instead only show the emote bubble and chat message (so it won't do the animation, and you won't be dismounted).
Added in level 80-90 gather supply chests from supply distributors.
Due to popular demand, show confirmation before gear is thrown in trash, to avoid accidentally deleting powerful gear.
Both PC and mobile has received a ton of updates to UI art and icons.
When players gain mana through Full Mana and Half Mana potions, there will now be floating combat text showing the gains.
Item tooltips that are too long to fit on screen can now be scrolled.
Made several small tweaks and improvements while gardening.
Seed packets now stack to 25x to make them easier to buy from vendors.
Clockwork harvester icon looks a bit sharper and no longer has the number on its icon (which was causing some confusion). Old players won't see this change until they reset their art assets or reinstall.
Brightened up several zones to not be so dark at night.
Players no longer have to throw the stone into the well in Marigold. Simply walking near the well will trigger the quest to progress.
Players no longer have to drink Cassandra's Tincture, it will progress directly from Cassandra.
Donalda is now much easier. Less health, less stun time, less damage.
Renamed /suicide to /death
Memorial pond is a bit smarter about how it spawns mobs for quests.
Addicts Ascent now has a dedicated area to spawn Fungi.
Crafting tutorial quests now give items individually rather than the supply crate (which was confusing to some new players).
The option to ask about Mallok is now in Arcra's opening dialog.
Playwright Parisa in Summer's Hollow now respawns much faster.
All feat and spell icons have been updated to show in a higher resolution. Because of this some icons will look entirely new. We tried to keep as many icons unchanged as possible, but several old icons we were unable to keep because of resolution issues.
* IMPROVEMENTS FOR MOBILE ONLY:
Only a single tap is now required to interact with most objects, for better ease of use.
Mobile now shows absorb shield amount over the health bar.
Added a "Clear all slots" button to the Mail Compose window.
Creating a character with "Quick Create" now jumps directly into the game.
Tutorial popup about Menu tutorial is now shown later when it is more relevant.
changed the color for charges on effects to be more readable.
* BALANCE ADJUSTMENTS:
Re-balanced the golden sheep sell values. They are now higher at both min and max level, and scale better with the amount of work it is to level the sheep.
Characters must now be at least level 30 or completed a rebirth in order to vote for a mayor. This was done to prevent the creation of fake accounts to take over a village.
Lowered the supply find chance on the Abundant Earth effect.
Lowered the amount of daily supplies given out at levels 45 and above.
Level 40 elite crafting quests no longer give combat experience and have had their respective crafting XP boosts reduced.
Increased the chance for monster parts to drop across the board.
Updated several house effects to have better scaling value.
Thinned out regular mobs to be less dense and generally off of main roads in the following zones: Halls of Salvation, Sailor's End, Zombie Town, Green Gate, Siren's Course.
Lowered the requirements of the quest "Managing the Restless" from 50 undead to 30.
Lowered the requirements of the daily quest "Removing the Malogs" from 11 to 4.
Yeti Pelts now stack to 5.
Boosted the healing power of Quibach's healers.
Fixed an issue causing Gaamkira to not spawn his adds.
Valax will now give at least 3 seconds between spawn and starting his explosion.
Valax's souls now have less health.
Trimmed down the number of enemies that use a short range AOE stun (which punishes warriors more severely than others).
Fixed an issue where mobs were missing the player more than intended.
Enemy damage across the board has been slightly increased.
When a player runs too far for an enemy to follow the enemy will become Aegis for a short term while running home (5 seconds compared to the normal 10 seconds).
If an enemy successfully attacks a player and they are Aegis, their Aegis will immediately be dispelled (rather than waiting for the duration to fall off). This should make players interactions with Aegis much less frustrating.
* BALANCE ADJUSTMENTS TO CLASS & COMBAT MECHANICS:
Warrior: Shocking Strikes damage bonus has been increased from 2-10% to 3-15%.
Warrior: Shocking Strikes aggro bonus has been increased from 5-25% to 7-35%.
Warrior: The aggro damage of Pummel has been increased by 20%.
Warrior: Pummel's mana cost has been reduced from 150 to 100.
Warrior: Thunderbird strike has had its damage increased by 25%.
Warrior: Dragon Strike now stuns for 7 seconds up from 4.
Warrior: Frenzied Strike now has a charge mechanic, quickly allowing the Fury Warrior to engage their target.
Warrior: Frenzied Strike's actual sword swing is now faster.
Warrior: Raging Blow now costs 100 mana, down from 150.
Warrior: Base threat generated by Lightning Bolt has been reduced by about 80%.
Warrior: Base threat generated by Thunderbolt has been reduced by about 80%.
Warrior: Lightning Bolt and Thunderbolt now scale by Lightning Power at a very high rate. This means that Pure Lightning Warriors will get more power than ever out of these feats (+40% compared to before), but hybrid and fury warriors won't have as much of an effect (-80% with no lightning power whatsoever).
Priest: Judgment now stuns for 10 seconds up from 9.
Priest: Priest's ultimate Shield Bash now stuns for 4 seconds up from 3.
Hunter: Concussion Shot now stuns for 7 seconds up from 4.
Hunter: Crippling Shot with the Sap ultimate now stuns for 7 seconds up from 6.
Hunter: True Shot now costs 50 mana, down from 150.
Hunter: Murder now costs 100 mana, down from 150
.
Wizard: The damage AND mana cost of Mana Fire have both been reduced by 15%
