Greetings my fellow Adventurers.
Saint Patrick's Day only has a few hours left in my time zone, which means you will not likely see this until after the fact, but I hope you had a good one all the same.
If you were here, I'm sure you noticed the site was a little greener than usual. I hope you enjoyed the holiday skin, but if not, Please blame our resident nymph, Layla, as she was the one who installed it without mentioning it to the rest of us beforehand. Good help is so hard to find these days. I was tempted to fire her for a moment, but then I remembered that I don't pay her anything, so it would pretty much defeat the purpose. I suppose I should just be content with the fact that she has not made it pink... yet.
The green was rather hard to miss, but we have made a few tweaks since this past Sunday which were not as noticeable. Nothing major I'm afraid, but perhaps a thing or two you will find useful.
First off, we have added a couple of boards.
The Gallery board is located in the "This-N-That" section. Feel free to display your artistic endeavors of most any type there, or to discuss subjects of an artistic nature such as tips and techniques. I understand that the site most of you early members have migrated from allowed members to create shops for avatars, signatures, and such. We have not made any provision for such at this time, but you may feel free to open one on that board if the mood strikes you. If enough members are interested, I will generate a sub board there for that purpose. If opening a shop, bear in mind that Mystic Adventures is a not for profit site, and that policy applies not only to the owner and staff of this forum, but to its membership as well. In other words, no one is allowed to sell anything for real money here, but you may link to a site such as deviantart.com where such things are allowed, provided it's subject matter is in line with this forums Rules of Conduct.
The Forum Games board is located in the Games and Gamers section. This board is for member designed content such as word games, puzzles, polls, and other such things that I can not imagine, but imagine you can.
Next up, we have added a couple of minor features that we hope will benefit your ability to post and navigate.
Spoiler tags have been added, and you can make use of them from the editing functions, bottom right button.
The editing functions are at the top of the text field when creating a thread, but do not display when when using "Quick Reply" to respond to a thread. To get editing functions to display when using Quick Reply, simply click on the "Reply" button located in the upper right of the Quick Reply text field.
Back to Top tab. If you will look to the far right center of the page you should notice a tab with an up or down arrow in it. This simply tabs you to the very top or bottom of the page with a single click, which is something your mouse wheel will surely appreciate. It should come in handy for long threads such as those found in Role Plays, and perhaps lengthy posts from Admins that type to much.
At the request of a certain bothersome staff member, I have installed a "OP Replies" plug in, but am at odds as to whether or not to activate it. The OP Replies feature would enable members to generate a thread that only they could respond to, and would have to be installed on a board generated for that specific use. The purpose of this feature would be to allow members to generate their own blog or journal that would be free from other members input. I will leave it to you to tell me if this is a feature that you would like to see and/or make use of.
That's it for this installment. Feel free to comment on anything discussed in this thread by posting below. Your opinions are always welcome.
If you have questions or suggestions about something not discussed in this update I would ask that you post them on the Members Input board instead.
Embrace the Adventure,
Sayyadina
