Engineer to the Scrapper elite specs comes with all kinds of fun utilities. As you start out with and engineer you are very limited in weapons you'll have pistols, shields, rifles and harpoon guns. As you can into your utilities you start gaining lots of fun little toys if you like to be a trapper this is I feel the best job for trapping a few options in turrets you can set up. This job gives you special weapons just for this job I like the grenades and bomb kit for under water fighting. Flamethrower is always fun, tool kit is useful for up close fighting and everyone has favorites just got to play around with them. I wish this job could make portals like Mesmers because with my riffle and rocket boots I can reach places with this job a lot easier than my Mesmer can. Good one for the jumping challenged then so is a Mesmer better at getting some where than you are. I like the number 5 attack on my riffle. Scrapper upgrade I haven't gotten use to the hammer but what may be the coolest new thing for me is now this job has a stealth skill.

Adding to this for those that enjoyed trapping or maybe you were a little disappointed in the trapping as a Ranger, Thief or Necromancer this job packs a few of its own traps. The most limiting thing you have is number of utilities you can use at once. You are given a rocket turret, net turret, flame turret, rifle turret, one that deals out crippling damage and an elite skill that throws out a net, flame, healing turret combo. You can set up you trap area on turrets and lead the target right into your trap you set for them. Another trap setting toy you have are mines to lay down.
Now when first entering the Heart of Thorns maps I was frustrated that my turrets were often destroyed fast and didn't do me much go. I thought that if I completed my Scrapper training I get some stuff and a new build that would help me on those maps. It turned out that was helpful for working my way through the map and story. At the very last chapter/episode of the Heart of Thorns story line turrets did become very useful to the end of completing I personally used my rocket, rifle and elite combo pack to slay the jungle dragon.
