Hello, my fellow Adventurers.
My apology for this late posting. Family matters have had me otherwise occupied, so I will be catching up over the next day or two. First on my to do list is to bring you up to date with the latest build in Villagers and Heroes.
The Holiday event in Grinchta's Lair has returned with some new features and items for 2015. This will be covered in a separate thread to be posted later today. In addition to the holiday zone, the Ardent Holiday Calendar returns. The calendar is late this year, most likely due to some needed bug fixes which took precedence and were installed in a series of short duration hot fixes. If you have not been in game since this last build, you should be able to open every day of the calendar, up to the date on which you first open it. From that point on it will convert to a daily calendar.
Of note is a minor bug that inappropriately applies a small number of sound cues, the most notable of which is the Quest Completion cue which activates while in your characters inventory. Oddly enough, it does NOT activate when you actually complete a quest. This bug does not affect game function aside from the obvious annoyance factor. I do not have a target date/time for when this will be fixed, but imagine it will be at the earliest opportunity. I will try to post back and let you know when this issue has been resolved. Until then, the game is perfectly fine to play, so pop in to Grinchta's Lair when you get a chance.
See you there.

Patch 3.9.4 : The Grintcha Has Returned!
New Features and Content
* Christmas is here! (And so is the Ardent Holiday Calendar!)
* The Ethos island crafting tutorial quests have been completely revamped to focus on creating items that are good for whatever class you are playing. While not every part of every quest is unique, each class should have a fairly unique experience and come out the other end with valuable items that they can use.
Improvements
* Lag Fix! We fixed some things that were causing player feats to sometimes stall for a few seconds (the player would click on the feat icon, the icon would remain green for 2 to 10 seconds, and finally the feat or spell would work). This has been widely referred to as "lag". The case that we fixed was when another player character would change zones, all of that character's data had to be loaded up by the new zone server - and this would cause a delay for all characters who were on the same server as that zone (AND - not necessarily the same zone - just the same server). We removed this problem.
* Repair costs have been lowered 20%
* Starter pack icons have been improved.
* Textures for upper ranked crafting stations in the villages has been improved.
Bug Fixes
* Fixed: 'Helping the Spriggans' achievement should now work properly and should be updated on past work you have completed.
* Fixed: Another wonky rug-I found another area that has rug problems 177 -265 499 in Pyrron Lower Keep.
* Fixed: the problem with "lag" that would affect many players whenever another player switched zones.
* Fixed: the problem where traveling up steep slopes and stairs really slowed the player down.
* Fixed: Certain house styles with achievement locks wouldn't work. The achievement aspect has been removed.
* Fixed: Certain items that could be sold to vendors but were no trade wouldn't list their value in the tooltip.
* Fixed: Quests that have counts associated with them are not tracking. If it is to collect 9 items, and you have 5, it doesn't show the 5/9 like it is suppose to. Not sure if this is the case with killing quests.
* Fixed: Training Area village project was not clear that Instructor buffs apply only while you are in the village zone. They now say this clearly.
* Fixed: During the smithing tutorial, it asks you to make either a Savage's fierce scale shirt or a Cadet's perservering splint cuirass. The bristles you give for the quest are the wrong ones. You give the Thick bristle and for this cuirass the rough bristles are needed.
