Greetings Adventurers.
I am happy to announce that after some unexpected delays, the A&E (Art and Entertainment) boards are finally up. All sections are now open for contributions.
The A&E boards can be found near the bottom of the index on the sites landing page, and are divided into 4 main categories, each with its own set of sub boards. I do not think they require any great explanation, but these are the four main categories.
1. The Cinema:
All things film related. Movies, Television, and Web based productions. Since there are no boards specific to live production, stage productins can also be posted about here, unless they are more appropriate for another board. For example, a play or comedy act would go here, where as a live music concert would obviously go on "The Sound Stage board.
2. The Gallery:
Art related subjects that are not best suited for another board. A good place for users to display their individual works.
3. The Library:
All things literary, from books to comics and manga. You can even discuss your favorite blogs or Lit sites.
4. The Sound Stage:
If it's about music or the music industry, this is where it goes.
* On-going Projects:
User Blogs.
WildStar Game Board.
I do not have a time frame for either of these projects to be complete.
The WildStar Game board should be complete before months end. User Blogs will be later in developing, but we will try to get that section out before the beginning of the winter holidays (which would start with Thanksgiving).
* Projects Under Consideration:
Graphic Redesign for landing page and primary boards.
Our focus thus far has been to,
1. Get all major sections into place.
2. Flesh those sections out with good content.
We feel rather strongly that function trumps form. Put another way, we have a much greater emphasis on content than we do appearance. I would like to have a pretty site, but that comes second to trying to be informative, entertaining, and simply being a community where members will feel inclined to participate. I feel we have just about gotten #1 above pretty much in hand. #2 above will require more work, and our members could contribute to that process a good deal if they are so inclined.
Have no doubt that I understand the draw that an impressive looking site has on attracting new members. Of all the suggestions we have had, this one ranks near the top. While we are actively exploring options on how to improve the sites look, this is more along the lines of a long term project, and I can not make any guarantee that you will see any meaningful changes this year. While it may not rise to the top of our "do list" at this time, please rest assured that it is on our radar.
Notes:
The old gallery board has been taken down. All threads from the old Gallery board have been relocated to whichever of the new boards or sub boards were deemed most appropriate. If you were not informed your thread had been relocated and are having trouble finding it, we will be happy to help you do so.
Several threads from the off topic section. "Chit Chat" have also been relocated. If the subject matter of the thread had a relationship to one of the new boards, that is where you will find it.
Thanks for reading, and feel free to comment on any issue you take an interest in.
