The "Worlds" of Minecraft.
If you are hosting a Minecraft Server, PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY before posting.
This board has been set up in order to allow our members that are hosting a Minecraft server an opportunity to showcase their World. Since servers are independently operated by the host, we have set certain standards that need to be met before a hosted server may be featured here. They are quite simply the Three Rules of Three.
The Three Rules of Three.
Rule 1: Hosts must be an active member of Mystic Adventures for a minimum period of three months.
Our definition of an active member is one that posts on a weekly basis. In order to keep people interested in your world thread, or in your world itself, you will need to keep members updated on a regular basis. Three months worth of weekly postings is an indication that you will devote that same level of attention and commitment to your world thread.
Rule 2: Hosts must have a Mystic Adventures account in good standing, with no disciplinary actions over the past three months.
The manner in which you relate to the staff and members of Mystic Adventures tells us a lot about how you will manage your server, and how you will relate to those members that decide to join your server.
Rule 3: The hosted server must have an operational track record of no less than three months.
Hosting a server has a few things in common with hosting a web site, or anything else for that matter. On the surface it seems like a lot of fun, but people quickly discover that the fun is only half of the equation. The remaining 50% consists of more time, work, and responsibility than many imagine it would be. It is for that reason that the majority of start ups begin to fall flat after the first quarter, and out of operation by the second or third quarter. If you are hosting a server, and still loving it after three months of labor, you are well on your way to being a success. Considering the frequency with which even branded games come and go, members like to know that they are entering a stable environment.
Other Considerations.
We wish for all sections of Mystic Adventures to be as active as can be reasonably expected. If you find that you will not be able to be active on your world thread, or on your server, we ask that you notify a member of the staff as soon as possible. If need be, we can lock the thread, or move it into the archives where it can be retrieved should your circumstances change.
If your world thread goes for a period of three months or more without an update (there's that 3 again), and without any notification to staff, Admin reserves the right to remove your server listing, and to lock and/or remove your thread to the archives.
Application.
Still with me? Good. Still want to establish a world thread, and have your server listed? Also good.
Simply copy the text below, and paste it into a post on this thread, along with a brief paragraph about your server.
I have been an active member of Mystic Adventures for more than three months.
My Mystic Adventures account is in good standing, and has had no disciplinary actions for the past three months or more.
My Minecraft server is up and running, and has been so for a period of at least three months.
I will inform a staff member of any circumstance that interferes with my ability to maintain my thread and/or server for a period of time.
I will inform a staff member of my intent to discontinue my thread and/or server.
I understand that a failure to maintain my thread for a period of three months or more could result in my thread and listing being locked and/or archived.
My server should be listed on this forum because............
My Application Has Been Accepted. Now What?
When your application has been accepted, you will be contacted by a staff member to get you set up.
The staff member will ask you for your server information in order to add it to the server listing that appears in the second post of this thread, below. If you wish, you can supply a small (signature sized) graphic to accompany that listing.
The staff member will instruct Admin to change your forum permissions.
Your new permissions will give you the ability to generate a World Thread for your server, and access to certain other forum sections that you may find useful.
** A note for server hosts that were previously listed on Legends of Mayhem.
If you had a listing at LoM, you are considered pre qualified. for a listing and thread here. Simply copy and post the application shown above in a post to this thread, and under the last entry of "my server should be listed on this forum because............" just say, "I was previously listed on LoM."
** Please take a moment to reacquaint yourself with this thread about Minecraft servers, posted in the Guides and Resources board of this section.
