Sadly, there seems to be a shortage of classic All-Hallows-Eve movies that celebrate the true spirit of this inspirational holiday. Oh sure, there are simply tons of good horror flicks out there but, those are just everyday fare, suitable for date night or good old fashioned family viewing. Where are the productions that go beyond the gore to grasp the heart and soul of this Mystical night?
Fortunately, what the movie industry has failed to achieve can be found elsewhere. In this case, some of the most moving All-Hallows-Eve productions around today come in the form of animated shorts, many of which are put out by little known producers. Sit back, get comfy, relax your guard. Nothing to fear here... much. Just Wednesday, sharing a few of her favorite animated shorts to lift your spirits, regardless of what Spirit you are watching with. You live ones may like these as well...
First up, a naughty little story that reveals the worst curse of all is having your hearts desire. Or, perhaps to put it another way, "Love Hurts"...
... a lot.
Romance is an attractive notion, but holding down even a seemingly "normal" relationship is more difficult than many imagine. It becomes even more complex when find yourself "Cursed" by circumstances that are... other than normal but, perhaps I'm not the best judge of normality.

And now, an inspirational little film about how true spirit endures... and endures... and endures......
A bittersweet story about how will and the spirit that drives that will can overcome obstacles and defeat boundaries.
I posted this feature earlier in the year for Friday 13th, but this is a more suitable time to show it; not to mention the fact that it's well worth showing again. It was an instant favorite of mine and remains so to this day. Enjoy......
......or else.
This feature May not come across as a Halloween inspired tale at first but, be patient, my pretties. If you stick it out until the end, you will witness a fate more horrible than I can even begin to describe. It is a tale of a brain divided and how sometimes that's not as bad as some would have you believe.
Brain Divided is an Animated Short Film by Josiah Haworth, Joon Shik Song & Joon Soo Song, and is featured on cgmeetup.
"Brain Divided" is the story about an ordinary guy who meets a not so ordinary girl, but his brain cells can't agree on how to go about winning her over.
Produced at Ringling College of Art and Design, this short was designed to showcase students character animation skills.
Although black is most certainly preferred or, perhaps a nice shade of red for that special occasion, evil can in fact come in a variety of colors...

Feature #03
"Brain Divided"
by Josiah Haworth, Joon Shik & Joon Soo
Love often presents us with joy and misery in roughly equal parts. In order to have the joy, you must be willing to bear the misery that may well often accompany it. Thus is the price of love. With the rare exception of those that love you whether you deserve it or not (Mom), if you are unwilling to bear the cost of love, the only love you will likely have will be of a transient nature. Don't be surprised if this leads you to have a "divided mind" concerning the issue. That's only normal. Then again, some people actually like being miserable. If that's the case, what's the issue. Go ahead and embrace the relationship. They are sure to make you miserable at some point. That's pretty much a guarantee...
