Well, knowing that I listen to rap, it'd probably wouldn't be okay to share some videos. I know that it is okay to share my favorite singers/rappers.
Nicki Minaj, Drake, Chris Brown, August Alsina, Taylor Swift (kinda), Bruno Mars.
Pretty much all.

Perhaps not so, my dear. It would depend upon what it is you think might not be appropriate. Or, as President Clinton would say, "That depends upon what your definition of Is is."I'm going to deviate from the topic a bit because I feel the need to clarify something, but I do not want to create a discussion because that is not the purpose of this thread. I am just going to make the point and move on. If it is something anyone wishes to discuss, they can create a thread for that purpose. Most of you are familiar with the rules from Legends of Mayhem, but while we also strive to maintain a family friendly environment, we are a little more liberal in how those rules are applied. To illustrate the difference, check this out... This video was banned on LoM. Why? Because the opening scenes in the video take place at a party where characters are shown holding champagne glasses which one would assume most likely contained champagne. Regardless of whether or not the glasses actually held champagne is beside the point. The insinuation of alcohol is present, and that presence was in violation of the zero tolerance rule for any depiction of alcohol on the LoM forum. In a way, I envy those rules because they made things simple. None = none, therefore, Any thing that has "some" is not allowed. Easy, right? My personal interpretation is a little more complicated. Yes, the depiction is there, but does the video glorify alcohol usage? Does it promote it? Was it excessive in the manner in which it was portrayed? What is or is not appropriate to a family friendly forum can be a bit of a gray area, and moderators may not always agree on where the line is. My ruling on this particular video is that it should be allowed, and here is my reasoning behind that opinion. This video was featured on Good Morning America, Live, and several other shows which run on Daytime TV, on basic cable. The default of those family oriented programs is to the "G" (General Audiences) standard. If this video has been approved for general audiences, and has already been played widely to those audiences, what have we accomplished by preventing our members from seeing it? With that in mind, here is a good rule of thumb to apply when deciding what may or may not be posted here. Has what you are about to post ever run on daytime TV in the same form as you are about to present? If not, would it be allowed to do so? The Miley Cyruss video Wrecking Ball, has never run in full on daytime TV because it is considered to reveling, so it would not be allowed here, but the edited version of Wrecking Ball has been, therefore, it WOULD be fine to post here. To be honest, I actually like that one (DON"T JUDGE ME!!!). Now, if What the Fox Said was something vulgar, I would not allow it, and neither would daytime TV. If the animals had been sitting around smoking mary-jane instead of carrying a glass, I would not allow it, and neither would daytime TV. It's a more complicated standard than what many of you are used to. It comes down to using your best judgement. Our standard here is teen and below, and we trust our members to do their best to stay within those standards, unless and until they demonstrate otherwise. If you see something you feel is inappropriate, please report it. If you want to post something and are unsure if it is appropriate, pm it to a moderator and they will be happy to guide you. aside from that, if you apply the daytime TV standard to what you are about to post, and it passes, it will almost certainly be allowed.

Okay, so as some of you know, I'm obsessed, pun intended, with Mariah Carey. She inspires people all around the world. Not only is she incredibly talented, but she has the achievements to prove it (most #1 singles of any solo artist, best-selling female artist, and most influential female artist of the 90's). But, enough talk. Let me show you some of my absolute favorite Mariah songs. And some other artists I like....
I'll Be There - Mariah Carey (The first time I heard Mariah was watching this video when I was 7 or 8)
Hero - Mariah Carey (This live version is AMAZING!)
Fantasy - Mariah Carey
I also love a lot of her more recent stuff, but they wouldn't be the most appropriate for the site. Heartbreaker, We Belong Together, Boy (I Need You), Bliss, and many more.
I'm definitely going to post some of the other artists and music I'm into, but I just had to get Mariah out of the way.

So, I've recently (today) been listening to New Orleans brass bands, and I've stumbled over brass renditions of some of my favorites. These are songs they'd play while taking the casket to the grave.
Precious Lord, Take My Hand - Dejan's Olympian Brass Band
Just A Closer Walk With Thee - Rebirth Brass Band

Suddenly I've found myself quite enjoying IAMX. Many of their songs are nice, though I've found myself quite hooked on one in particular.
"I Come With Knives"
Part of it is in German, so allow me to translate that:
Children and stars kissing and lose themselves
Grab my hand and lead me quietly
The dream gods took me to a landscape
Butterflies fluttered through my soul
In the midnight.

I like Postmodern Jukebox, especially that last one that Denton tossed in with Ariana Grande. Quality stuff all around. While I like quality music, I have to confess that sometimes I wander out into left field for no understandable reason. On one of those little side trips I stumbled across Aqua. It's not my usual fare, but the lead singer, Lene, is quite talented. If you have no idea who Aqua was, I imagine the last clip will spark a memory...... Whether or not you regard it as a good memory I will leave for you to decide. Good Morning Sunshine.
